Volt is immediately hiring Painter in Paramount, CA.

As a Painter you will:

Perform plugging, masking, and ID painting operations
Meet with the manager for work status review & planning.
Equipment round-up: Plan, gather paint, applicator, brooms, tape, acetone, rags, measuring tools, etc.
Protecting the work area & others: Meet with work area owners & affected personnel. Discuss expectations and cordon off the work area with caution tape, cones, and signs.
Preparing the surface: Cleaning, priming, and preparing the surface to ensure the paints adhere properly.
Transferring design: Transferring a design onto the painting surface.
Mixing paint: Preparing the primer & paint by mixing/stirring paint manually.
Applying the underpainting: Adding an initial layer of paint, usually a thin and transparent layer, to establish the basic tones and composition of the painting.
Building up the painting: Adding multiple layers of paint, each building upon the previous layer, until the desired level of detail and texture is achieved.
Drying: Allowing the paint to dry completely.
Equipment cleaning, maintenance, and storage.
Check completed work: Check paint is dry and the result is satisfactory or better. Confirm with the department manager. Release the area to operations.
Working with hazardous chemicals: Working with hazardous chemicals can cause health risks.

This is a full time opportunity

1st shift position Pay Rate $19.00 per hour

The ideal candidate will have:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to understand and follow Safety Policies and Procedures as applies to the work environment and work tasks: Lock Out Tag Out, Confined Space, Fall Arrest, Hazardous Waste, and other policies.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, vendors, customers, and the general public.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
Excellent hand/eye coordination, practical skills, and attention to detail.
Ability to work alone or as a member of a team, good cooperative skills.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods with limited movement.
